An Analysis of the Initials of Gumudi Chinese Dialect
Gumudi is a town in Midong District,Urumqi,Xinjiang.Gumudi Chinese dialect belongs to Lanyin Mandarin in northern Xinjiang.This paper focuses on the analysis of evolution and the phonetic features of the ini-tials of Gumudi Chinese dialect.The main features are as follows:the double focal consonants existing in Gumudi Chinese dialect,the complicated readings of the initials in Zhi(知)Zhuang(庄)Zhang(章)group,palatalization of initials in Duan(端)group before the fine sound,different literary and colloquial readings of Kaikou(开口)3rd-division characters in Jian(见)and Xiao(晓)group,the readings of Ying(影)Mu and Yi(疑)Mu characters now-adays;two readings of the initials of Ri(日)Mu characters.
