Study on the Impact on River Operation After the Gap in the Cofferdam Downstream of Xinglong Water Conservancy Project is Blocked
The Xinglong Water Conservancy Project was forced to lower the reservoir water level,which affected the normal performance of the comprehensive benefits of the project.Solutions are urgently needed.Based on the cur-rent status of the project,a mathematical model of river dynamics is used to study the engineering measures that should be taken to increase the water level downstream of the Gaojun hub,and the impact on the downstream river operation after implementation.According to the simulation results,the gap section of the lateral cofferdam down-stream of the Xinglong Water Conservancy Project was sealed using a geotechnical bag solution,with a blocking ele-vation of 27.8m.After the implementation of the plugging plan,the problems of hub navigation and power genera-tion safety caused by the undercutting of the river bed were better solved,and the goals of normal operation and effi-ciency of the project were achieved.
