Study on the Applicability of 316L Stainless Steel Coiled Tubing in the Tarim Oilfield
In recent years, with the continuous advancement of material technology and pipe manufacturing techniques, the quality of coiled tubing production has significantly improved, and the selection of materials has become increasingly diverse. In order to provide a basis for ma-terial selection in coiled tubing operations in oil and gas fields, systematic material performance tests were conducted on 316L austenitic stain-less steel, taking into account the requirements for corrosion resistance, economic feasibility and safety in oilfield applications. The high-tem-perature corrosion operation environment during the drilling, completion, acidification and production stages of oil and gas wells was simulated, and high-temperature and high-pressure corrosion test research was conducted. The applicability of 316L stainless steel in oilfield operations was investigated under these conditions. Results showed that although 316L stainless steel exhibited excellent corrosion resistance under the three simulated conditions,it showed high sensitivity to stress corrosion cracking.Furthermore, due to the limitations of its yield strength,it was deemed unsuitable for use in ultra-deep wells under these three working conditions.
