Progress in Wettability and Synthesis of Self-cleaning Bionic Surface
Developments on several kinds of typical surface structure of plants and animals and their wettability are reviewed in this paper. The self-cleaning mechanism of surface structure of plants and animals is analyzed. The conventional methods of hydrophobic bionic self-cleaning surface are also introduced. And the possibility of transfering the surface structure of plants and animals onto the surface of materials via moulding is also discussed. Furthermore, the potential applications and developments in this field are prospected.
