Study on Preparation of CAS Glass-ceramics by Collaborative Melting of MSWI Fly Ash and Coal Fly Ash
The CaO-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics was prepared by one-step"melting-hot pressing and forming"heat treatment, using fly-ash from munici-pal solid waste incineration after water washing pretreatment(WFA)and coal fly ash(CFA)as feeding materials. The results showed that with the addition of 15 g excipients,3 g nucleating agent(TiO2),and 6 g carbon powder, when the amounts of WFA,CFA,and SiO2 were 35 g,35 g,and 25.5 g respectively, and m(CaO)/m(SiO2)was 0.54,the glass-ceramics with uniform crystal phase distribution and relative crys-tallinity of 93.66%was obtained after 1 hour of heat treatment at 1 050 ℃.The main physical and mechanical features of the as-prepared CAS glass-ceramic were as follows:volume density 2.79 g/cm3,water absorption 0.04%,acid resistance 99.71%,alkali resistance 99.83%,com-pressive strength 350.87 Mpa,and vickers hardness 6.52 Gpa.The toxicity measured by leaching test was in line with the national standard. The output of this work provides technical support for the valorization of incineration fly ash.
