Study on Microstructure and Properties of Titanium/Steel Hybrid Bonding Interface
Aiming at the difficulty of titanium/steel dissimilar metal connection, the titanium and steel are jointed through met-allurgical and mechanical connection by surface structure design and powder metallurgy technology with the titanium alloy pow-ders and marine steel. It is found out that the interface of titanium/steel hybrid joint is 100%bonded.The inter-diffusion of Fe and Ti elements helps to form the metallurgical bonding, and combining with the mechanical bonding, the tensile strength of the hy-brid joint reaches 449 MPa,the shear strength reaches 299 MPa,and the impact energy reaches 31 J.The research results can meet the needs of titanium/steel welding such as realizing the joint of high-strength titanium alloy and steel, improving the impact tough-ness of the connection interface, and facilitating the application of titanium/steel joint in the curved surface structures.
