Study on the preparation technology and breaking strength of chitosan modified polylactic acid fiber
In order to improve the mechanical properties of poly(lactic acid)(PLA)fiber, the CS-modified PLA(CS-PLA)fiber was prepared by the joint finishing of O2 plasma-chitosan(CS).The effects of CS mass fraction, reaction temperature and reaction time on the weight gain rate and breaking strength of the fiber were analyzed. The optimum technological conditions for the modification of PLA fiber were discussed, and the morphology and structure of the CS-PLA fiber were characterized. The experimental results showed that when the mass fraction of CS was 1.5%,the reaction temperature was 60 ℃ and the reaction time was 8 h,the breaking strength of CS-PLA fiber was increased by 39.76%compared with that of unmodified PLA fiber.Scanning electron microscope images showed that there was a layer of uniformly adsorbed chitosan on the surface of PLA fiber after composite treatment.Fourier infrared spectroscopy showed that hydroxyl and amino functional groups were introduced on the surface of modified PLA fiber.X-ray diffraction analysis showed that the crystallinity of the modified fibers increased.Thermogravimetric analysis shows that the thermal stability of CS-PLA fiber is stronger than that of unmodified PLA fiber. The CS-PLA fiber with excellent mechanical properties and surface hydroxyl and amino functional groups is beneficial to the improvement of dyeing properties and wearability of PLA fiber.
