The research on technological diversification effect of talent aggregation in central cities
Based on the data of central cities from 2003 to 2020,this paper examines the technological diversification effect of talent agglomeration in central cities.It is found that talent agglomeration signifi-cantly promotes the development of technological diversification in central cities,and the conclusion still holds after the robustness test and endogeneity problemsbeing solved.The results of the mechanism of action test indicate that talent agglomeration promotes the development of technological diversification in central cities by improving the efficiency of technological innovation and facilitating knowledge spillovers.Further analysis shows that talent agglomeration not only promotes relevant technological diversification,but also enhances the level of unrelated technological diversification;talent agglomeration promotes regional and lo-cal central cities more than national central cities;the effect of talent agglomeration on the level of techno-logical diversification decreases over time,i.e.,there exists a finite time boundary.The size of the city's e-conomy,the incentives of innovation policies,and the reform of the household registration system all strengthenthe positive impact of talent agglomeration on the development of technological diversification in central cities.The analysis of economic consequences shows that the technological diversification effect of talent agglomeration enhances the science and technology innovation function of central cities and promotes regional innovation development.The findings of the study are of great significance for enhancing the talent agglomeration effect in central cities and promoting the quality and efficiency of technological innovation.
