In order to adapt to the situation of development of the industry under the goals of peak carbon dioxide e-missions,a gas power plant actively responds to the policy orientation of the renovation of adding phase modulation functions to thermal power units according to local conditions,and provides more flexible and high-quality dynamic reactive power support for the power system. This paper proposes adding the function of the phase modifier while re-taining the original power generation capacity as well as switching between the two operating modes of the power generation and phase modifier by disassembling the coupling between the generator and the gas turbine. Based on the above,this paper implements the feasibility study,expounds the background of the renovation,calculates the modifiable capacity,and provides a specific scheme of renovation.
