Although vocational college students have some basic knowledge and skills of English,there is the phe-nomenon of pragmatic fossilization of English culture in practical application,which restrict the improvement of their ability of using English.Based on the input and affective filter hypotheses as well as the analyses of the phenome-non,types and causes,this paper explains the feasibility of the improvement of pragmatic fossilization of English cul-ture through modular teaching from the theoretical perspective.In addition,taking freshmen majoring in preschool education for example,it expounds specific procedures of modular teaching,to enhance vocational college students'ability and level of cross-cultural communication.
