Since its founding, the Communist Party of China (CPC) has closely linked the protection of the people's health with the cause of national independence and liberation, and attached great importance to the development of domestic health and epi-demic prevention. Under the leadership of the CPC, the century-old health and epidemic prevention cause has gone through four periods of start-up, expansion, improvement and leap-forward development. It has made historic progress and achievements, forming the basic features of highlighting the political value of epidemic prevention, following the principle of people's supreme value, adhering to the important principles of prevention and control in accordance with the law, and implementing the mecha-nism of mass prevention and epidemic control. In its century-old practice of epidemic prevention, the CPC has also accumulated rich experience. Historical experience shows that upholding the party's leadership in epidemic prevention is the fundamental guarantee for successful epidemic prevention, that scientific prevention and control is the most powerful weapon in defeating the epidemic, and that adhering to the mass line is the basic basis for advancing the cause of epidemic prevention and control.
