The strong tendency towards not being in office was an important attribute of the Zhejiang School poets in the mid Qing Dynasty. The deep participation of a large number of monks and Taoists in the cultural activities of the Zhejiang School poets has to some extent become an important factor in the formation of this attribute. The three po-etic monks,SHI Mingzhong,SHI Zhuanyu, and SHI Shangxu, can be said to be the most noteworthy peripheral members of the Zhejiang School of poetic monks.Through researching relevant materials,it can be concluded that their significance to the Zhejiang School poet community goes beyond just ordinary poetry recitation and communica-tion with other members. The greater value of their poetry cultural activities lies in their support for the formation and activity of the Nanping Poetry Club,a sub poetry group of the Zhejiang School. Therefore, the determination of the historical value of their poetry constitutes an important part of the research on the entire group of Zhejiang School poets.
