Vitality Regeneration of Industrial Heritages in the Urban Renewal Context—A Case Study of the Protection,Development and Utilization Project of the Industrial Heritage of Xialu Iron Works in Huangshi City
With the ceaseless advancement of urbanization,cities have begun to develop in a different way.In response to the new framework of urban development and increasing demand for high-quality development of the city,the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan clearly put forward the new concept of implementing the"urban renewal"action for the first time,aiming to perform a functional transformation of the stock area with deviated functional requirements,poor utilization efficiency and low environmental quality in the old urban areas,thereby changing them into a new type of space for production and living.The large number of industrial heritages with functions lost and spaces unused in the city are the primary objects for urban renewal.However,in practice,there emerged excessive blind demolitions and over-protection.For such problems,this paper took the protection,development and utilization project of the industrial heritage of Xialu Iron Works in Huangshi City as an example,and made attempts to construct a green,diversified,open and dynamic industrial park from this industrial heritage through the value evaluation of the industrial heritage and the formulation of reasonable transformation strategies,so as to realize regional and urban rejuvenation.It offers references for the design and renewal of industrial heritages.
