Research on the Construction Strategy of"Mountains-and-Rivers Weaving"for Waterfront Buildings in Mountainous Areas
The waterfront environment gives the mountainous area a natural landscape advantage, yet the intricate topography of the mountainous area and the fluctuating water levels pose challenges for designers to integrate the waterfront building with the surroundings, create architectural spaces, and shape building facades.Combining the environment of multiple mountains and waters with the climatic characteristics of high humidity and high heat in Chongqing, this paper presented the locality-grounded construction strategy of"Mountains-and-Rivers Weaving",which encompasses three specific approaches:"Mountains-and-Rivers Adjoining"for the layout of architectural space,"Mountains-and-Rivers Integrating"for the architectural form,and"Mountains-and-Rivers Blending"for the architectural element design. Thus, the new design mode of waterfront buildings to integrate with the mountain and river resources in the mountainous area was explored.
