Comparative Analysis of Ventilation Design Schemes for Startup Circuits of an Indoor Converter Station
The startup circuit,as a vital component of converter stations, necessitates a well-designed ventilation scheme that addresses power safety concerns such as equipment lifespan and power outages.Taking the startup circuit of an indoor converter station in Guangzhou as a research object, this study comprehensively considers factors including building structure, equipment heat dissipation characteristics, economic analysis, and energy consumption. It compares and analyzes the applicability of natural ventilation versus mechanical ventilation, designs ventilation schemes, and ultimately identifies the optimal solution.Leveraging the collaboration between AutoCAD and Ansys ICEM for modeling, the models are imported into Ansys Fluent for numerical simulation. This simulation replicates the temperature and velocity fields of airflow within the DC yard, thoroughly validating the feasibility of the proposed ventilation scheme. The results demonstrate that natural ventilation can fully meet the heat dissipation requirements, saving 2.228 million kWh of electricity annually compared to mechanical ventilation, equivalent to a cost reduction of RMB 2.228 million in operating expenses. This approach holds significant potential for wider application.
