Exploration of Integrating Advanced Technologies into Engineering Majors under the Framework of New Engineering Education——A Case Analysis of the"Civil Engineering"Major at Zhengzhou College of Finance and Economics
Amidst the ongoing transformation towards the smart era,the development of engineering majors often lags behind the evolving societal and industrial needs.In light of the core principles of New Engineering Education(NEE)and the current state of the civil engineering industry globally,the urgent need for upgrading engineering majors becomes evident.Comprehensive reforms to the talent cultivation programs,tailored to the tenets of NEE,are paramount.This includes the introduction of micro-majors,the expansion of interdisciplinary elective courses,and the integration of forefront technologies such as Building Information Modeling(BIM),informatization,intelligent construction,green buildings,and artificial intelligence(AI)into the curriculum.Such endeavors aim to establish a curriculum system that resonates with current industry demands and societal advancements,thereby facilitating the transformation and enhancement of the"Civil Engineering"major.The ultimate objective is to nurture versatile,interdisciplinary talents who possess robust self-learning capabilities,adept teamwork and communication skills,critical thinking abilities,an innovative mindset,adaptability to societal shifts,and the capacity to bridge various disciplines.
