Exploration of Quality Improvement in Small Towns Guided by Tourism Development:A Case Study of Zhuxi Town,Dazu District,Chongqing
Small towns serve as bridges connecting urban and rural areas and are crucial for promoting integrated urban-rural development. Previous efforts to enhance the quality of small towns have primarily focused on comprehensive spatial environmental improvement, with less attention given to endogenous development drivers. Taking Zhuxi Town in Dazu District,Chongqing,as an example, this paper explores the path of quality improvement in small towns guided by tourism development. First,it emphasizes the importance of deeply exploring local resource characteristics and development advantages to clarify the positioning of tourism development. Second,it proposes the construction of a tourism spatial system from three scales:regional,town-wide,and urban area. Finally, considering the existing issues in town construction,it suggests integrating tourism attributes into material spatial improvement to form a list of implementable construction projects.
