Study on Inspection and Load Capacity of Suspension Bridge During Suspension Cable Replacement
Based on the engineering background,this paper studies the failure modes and mechanisms of hangers during the operation period of suspension bridges by dissecting the replaced hangers. It determines the corrosion level,fracture location,and fracture form of the steel wires. Through wire tensile tests,repeated bending tests,and fatigue tests,the influence of surface corrosion on the static mechanical properties and fatigue performance of the steel wires is investigated. By conducting re-tensioning tests on the replaced hangers,the remaining load capacity of the hangers is studied. Meanwhile,the research results provide references for the maintenance,inspection,and design of similar bridges. Keywords:Hanger;Inspection;Load Capacity
