Safety Appraisal and Reinforcement Evaluation of an Industrial Building After a Fire Accident
A partial fire occurred in an industrial building, causing severe damage to some concrete members.Through on-site investigation,an initial appraisal and rating of the concrete members post-fire were conducted.Additionally, the mechanical properties of steel reinforcement and concrete after the fire were tested.Based on the surface characteristics such as color changes, cracking, and hammering responses, the standard heating time of individual components was inferred.Subsequently, the remaining bearing capacity of the concrete members post-fire was determined, enabling a detailed appraisal and rating of the concrete members.According to the results of the on-site investigation and appraisal, repair and reinforcement measures were implemented for the damaged components. To verify the mechanical properties of the reinforced concrete members,a load test was conducted on one of the floor slabs. The test results indicated that under normal service conditions, the measured deflection and cracking at mid-span of the floor slab were both less than the allowable limits, satisfying the requirements for normal use under static loading.
