Response Analysis of Interlayer Isolation Structures Under Mainshock-aftershock Seismic Sequences
A numerical model of an interlayer isolation structure with a single-tower and large podium was established using SAP2000.The modal analysis results of the isolation structure model were compared with those of a seismic structure model.Twenty real mainshock-aftershock seismic sequences were selected, with interlayer displacement and floor shear force used as response indicators for analysis. The results indicate that under frequent earthquakes, the structural dynamic response trends are generally similar for both single mainshocks and mainshock-aftershock sequences, with slightly larger responses observed under mainshock-aftershock sequences. For rare earthquakes, the dynamic response of the structure under mainshock-aftershock sequences is significantly greater than that under a single mainshock. This suggests that aftershocks amplify the response and damage of interlayer isolation structures, with the impact becoming more pronounced as the earthquake intensity increases.
