Case Study on Reconstruction Project of Pedestrian Underpass Crossing Under Existing Building Foundations
A newly constructed pedestrian underpass requires crossing under existing building foundations, necessitating foundation underpinning. For such reconstruction projects involving existing building foundations, the first step is to conduct a safety appraisal of the existing buildings.Based on the appraisal results and the owners'requirements, the reconstruction design is then carried out, followed by construction by the contractor according to the design drawings.During the construction process, automated monitoring measures were employed to ensure the smooth progress of the construction. This paper introduces the process of a pedestrian underpass reconstruction project crossing under existing building foundations, providing suggestions and references for similar engineering practices.
