Agenda Setting and National Community Building: A study on the Refugee Report of Ta Kung Pao·Temporary Evening Journal during the Battle of Shanghai
Although Ta Kung Pao·Temporary Evening Journal which was issued to serve the Shanghai Battle, has been running for a short time, it has the advantages of focusing on the reporting perspective, less layout and low price. Compared with the regular issue, the Temporary Evening Journal responded earlier to the na-tional government's policy call from "fleeing" to "resisting" through differentiated issue setting, focusing on refugee relief policies, living conditions, group image, etc., actively faced the social and ethnic ethical disor-der caused by the large concentration of refugees, guided and educated the lower-level refugees through con-tinuous and intensive refugee reporting. It promoted ordinary people's understanding of the national War of re-sistance, promoted the formation of the national community consciousness in the modern sense, and made the refugee group a special symbol through the use of documentary articles with both journalistic and literary char-acteristics, providing the newspaper narrative dimension of the relationship between individuals and countries in the war environment through the words of refugees themselves. It has important enlightenment to study the characteristics of the issues of the temporary press during the war.
