Influence of Methyl Silicate Waterproofing Agents on the Water Resistance Perforemance of Phosphorus Building Gypsum Blocks
Phosphorus building gypsum blocks have advantages such as low carbon, light weight, fire resistance, insulation and sound insulation, but their poor water resistance greatly limits their application scope.By adding methylsilicate waterproofing agents to improve the water resistance of phosphorus building gypsum blocks, the effects of methylsilicate waterproofing agents on the water absorption rate, softening coefficient, surface contact an-gle and mechanical properties of phosphorus building gypsum blocks are systematically studied.X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)are used to analyze the mechanism of the effect of methylsilicate waterproofing agents on the performance of the blocks.Sodium methylsilicate and potassium methylsilicate can ef-fectively improve the water resistance of phosphorus building gypsum, with sodium methylsilicate having a better modification effect. With the increase of the dosage of methylsilicate waterproofing agent, the softening coefficient of phosphorus building gypsum blocks first increases then decreases and increases again the water absorption rate con-tinuously decreases, and the contact angle continuously increases.Methylsilicate waterproofing agents can form a polysiloxane waterproof film on the surface of gypsum crystals, thereby improving the water resistance of phosphorus building gypsum. However, this waterproof film can affect the normal growth of phosphorus building gypsum crys-tals and reduce the mechanical properties of phosphorus building gypsum.
