Study on Gas Generation Mechanism and Potential of Continental Shale in Qiaozhen-Yucha of Xiasiwan Town
In order to reveal the gas generation mechanism and potential of of terrestrial shale in the Ordos Basin,Yucha area of the Xiasiwanqiao town is selected to conduct research such as shale geochemical characteristics, gas generation simulation experiments, gas generation mechanisms, and hydrocarbon generation models. The research results indicate that the organic matter abundance of the source rocks in the Chang 7 and Chang 9 oil reservoirs is high, most of which are mature-high mature stages, and they belong to good hydrocarbon source rocks on the whole. The shale of the Chang 7 oil reservoir shows strong hydrocarbon generation ability in the closed golden tube simulation experiment.Factors such as organic matter type, degree of thermal evolution, and heating rate have sig-nificant impacts on the hydrocarbon generation capacity of shale. The reason why the Yanchang Formation in the re-search area can have a high gas generation rate during the low maturity-maturity evolution stage is mainly closely related to organic matters such as terrestrial higher plants and lower organisms.Through the analysis of the charac-teristics of the strata buried evolution, the hydrocarbon generation process of the Yanchang Formation shale is main-ly in the high maturity stage.
