Numerical simulation of Bingshi gabion dam in debris flow control field
This paper addresses the pain points and difficulties of the current road debris flow governance process using Binger stone cage dam governance. Compared with the traditional dam, Binger stone cage valley dam has many advantages such as good integrity and flexibility, good permeability, simple construction, low cost, short construction period, and easy to repair after dam-age. So it is suitable for small and medium-sized debris flow governance projects. Through numerical simulation study, the analysis found that the weaknesses of bing-lattice stone cage dam are 1) overall slip, 2) cage joint slip, and 3) low cage joint bearing capac-ity. Proper treatment of the stone cage joint is the key point of success or failure of stone cage dam in engineering application. In addition, short reinforcement should be applied behind the stone cage dam wall. In this way, at a little increase of the cost, sliding prevention and section strengthening are achieved which will ultimately improve the engineering safety.
