Risk assessment and source analysis of heavy metals in soil,Nankou Town,Changping District,Beijing
473 surface soil samples and 65 soil samples were collected from Nankou Town,Changping,to test for eight heavy metal elements including arsenic(As),cadmium(Cd),copper(Cu),chromium(Cr),mercury(Hg),lead(Pb),nickel(Ni),and zinc(Zn),as well as geochemical indicators such as aluminum(Al2O3),silicon(SiO2),and iron oxide(Fe2O3).Various pollution evaluation methods and statistical methods were adopted.Pearson correlation analysis and principal component analysis were used to assess the risk of soil heavy metal pollution and analyze the pollution sources. The results show that heavy metal Cd content is generally high;super screening value points are wide spread;some individual points exceed the screening values with Pb,Hg,Cr,Ni,Cu,and Zn;and mild or above pollution points exist with Cd,Hg,Pb,and Zn.Pearson correlation analysis and principal com-ponent analysis show that the sources of Cd,Hg,Zn are similar;the human contribution rate of Cd and Zn increased significantly from 1970 to 2021,and the average value is significantly higher than the background value in Beijing, indicating the presence of man-made pollution in the study area.
