From Livelihood Migration to Lifestyle Migration:Counter-urbanization Movement of Young Generation in Chinese Developed Metropolitan Areas

摘要
我国沿海发达都市圈已进入城镇化中后期,人口由城入乡流动展现出逆城市化迹象.现有研究仅考察影响人口流动的客观因素,却忽略主观价值观对人口流动动机的影响.基于南京都市圈旅游型乡村的调研,发现:青年人返乡动机从过去强调就业转向更加强调幸福感.经济收入虽然依旧是重要目标,但其优先地位低于其父辈.亲近自然、获得自由、重建家庭亲密关系、实现个人价值对青年人返乡的影响日益显著.研究指出发达地区青年人口"城→乡"迁移逐渐呈现从生计导向往生活方式导向递进的新特征.乡村振兴政策在鼓励扶持青年人返乡创业就业的同时,更需重视以人为本和以美好生活为本.
Abstract
Nowadays the developed metropolitan areas of China have entered the middle and late stage of urbanization,where people migrant from the city to the countryside has form a trend of counter-urbanization.Existing studies mainly investigated the objective factors that affecting migration,but ignored the potential impact of subjective values on young generation who are the main groups of flowing population.Based on the survey of five tourism villages in Nanjing metropolitan area,this paper analyzes the intergenerational differences of the motivation of returning to the hometown rural areas.We find that young generation's urban-to-rural migration has shifted from job/income maximization-targeted to wellbeing optimisation-targeted.Jobs and income,while still important,are less of a priority for the young than their father or grandfather generation.The goals of getting close to nature,obtaining free life style,family living together,realizing personal value have an increasingly significant impact on young people's counter-urbanization movement.We argue that a new trend of lifestyle migration gradually emerged in developed metropolitan areas apart from livelihood migration in the past.Rural revitalization should emphasis more on people-oriented and good quality of life-oriented policies,besides the promotion of entrepreneurship and economic growth.
