Urban Issue as the Regional Issue——The Establishment and Development of the Regional View of Urban Planning in China
The article systematically describes the process from the establishment of the regional view to the establishment of city-region concept in the area of urban planning after the reform and opening-up in China.Under the background of glob-alization, the article analyses the difference between the new and old perspectives of regional views and the changing interpretations of the term "region", and de-scribes the reconstruction of regional function system under the new system of in-ternational division of labor.At the same time, the article discusses that giobaliza-tion has the influence on city regional positioning and city function positioning in the area of urban planning.The article illustrates the regionalization trend of both Chinese and foreign cities, reviews theoretical researches and planning practices on city-regions and summarizes the focus of various types of planning.The article points out the trend towards mega-city region formation, and the resulting confu-sion.
