Spatial Optimization and Planning Strategies for Rural Settlements from the Perspective of Space of Flows:A Case Study of the Huanxinyingwan Area,Hainan Province
Under the guidance of intensive land use, optimizing the spatial layout of rural settlements is of great significance for achieving comprehensive rural revitaliza-tion.This paper adopts the concept of'space of flows'to construct an analytical framework for optimizing rural settlement spaces, using the Huanxinyingwan area of Hainan Province as a case study. The findings of the study are as follows. From the perspective of'space of flows',the urban-rural relationship exhibits the characteristics of'flattening, networking, and grouping'.Population threshold for public service fa-cilities and the farming radius are the key factors in optimizing rural settlements. The rural settlements in the Huanxinyingwan area show the spatial evolution charac-teristics of agglomerating around towns and along roads, although the influence of roads and farming radius remains limited.Rural settlement units are important scale for planning in terms of overall allocation of public service facilities, organizing ru-ral functions, and defining detailed planning units.
