ANALYSIS OF KENGO KUMA'S ARCHITECTURAL WORKS IN CHINA BASED ON LANDSCAPE URBANISM
In recent years, in the development of landscape urbanism in China, many similar concepts have been generated, such as landscaped city, double urban renovation, stock planning, and ecological city. Chinese architecture has always been a combination of "landscape+architecture," and the planning of buildings is often subordinate to landscape planning. Kengo Kuma's practical exploration of "concealing architecture" and "connecting architecture with nature" has been successful in China. This article, based on an in-depth research on the concept of landscape urbanism, summarizes the four important aspects of landscape urbanism. Taking Kengo Kuma's architectural design in China as an example, we tried to analyze his design ideas, spatial forms, and construction methods from different perspectives including context, the response of urban culture, and the connection between human and environmental media. Our aim is to explore and summarize the connection between Kengo Kuma's natural architecture theory and landscape urbanism, in order to provide some inspiration for the integration of contemporary architecture and the environment.
