On Adhering to the Strictest System and the Most Rigorous Rule of Law to Protect the Ecological Environment
Insisting on protecting the ecological environment with the strictest system and the most rigorous rule of law is an important content of Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization and Thought on the Rule of Law.The connotation of the idea is that national laws and regulations on ecological and environmental protection,Communist Party of China(CPC)'s regulations and systems should be formulated and implemented in accordance with the strictest standards,and that violations of these laws,regulations and systems should be pursued rigorously and strictly in accordance with the law.Since the 18 th CPC National Congress,China has been in a critical period of industrialization,and only by referring to international experience in formulating the strictest system and implementing the most rigorous rule of law can we solve the serious ecological and environmental problems.China has initially established a strict system of CPC's regulations on ecological and environmental protection within the party,and formed a relatively complete system of national laws and regulations on ecological and environmental protection.In general,not only are the objectives,standards and measures for ecological and environmental protection strict,but the procedures and responsibilities for ecological environmental protection are also strict and rigorous.These initiatives have played an important role in China's comprehensive protection of the ecological environment,the nationwide battle to prevent and control environmental pollution,and promoting the targets for carbon peak and carbon neutrality and so on.Looking to the future,China should continue to improve its ecological and environmental protection system in light of the ever-changing new situation,strengthen the connection and coordination between CPC's regulations and systems and national laws and regulations,strictly enforce ecological and environmental protection law enforcement,justice and accountability,continuously cultivate the public's awareness of ecological and environmental law,and promote social participation and supervision.
