Application of Old Topographic Maps in Shenzhen Municipal Engineering Investigation
The engineering construction of urban built-up areas has undergone drastic transformation of the original terrain,while tradi-tional exploration methods such as drilling,in-situ testing,or geophysical exploration have significant limitations.These methods often fail to determine the original terrain and topography of the engineering construction area.At the same time,the dense urban buildings and municipal facilities limit the number and scope of drilling arrangements.The article is based on the method of inferring the evolution process of urban terrain and geomorphology by consulting old topographic maps,combined with on-site engineering geological conditions and elevations,to ef-fectively speculate on the distribution of strata in complex urban areas,optimize the drilling layout plan,to some extent compensate for the lim-itations of other investigation methods,and reveal possible construction risks based on the history of terrain transformation.
