Urban wilderness not only provides habitat for many wild animals and plants, but also plays an important role in regulating urban microclimate and purifying air. With the acceleration of urbanization, urban wilderness is facing the risk of serious degradation and disappearance. Based on this, the concept and classification of urban wilderness are analyzed, its ecological value and important position and role in urban ecosystem are summarized. Taking the ecological restoration of the mountainous area of Guang-yang Island in Chongqing as an example, the restoration path is proposed from the aspects of light combing, shallow intervention, minimally invasive restoration and systematic restoration, so as to realize the ecological val-ue of urban wilderness and contribute to the sustainable development of the city and the construction of ecological civilization.
