The association between the imagery of rural tourism development and environmental construction in Lengshui Township, Zhongyi Township and Qiaotou Township was studied, by analysing government work reports of Shizhu County, interviewing township cadres, village cadres and villagers as well as observing and recording the construc-tion of villages and townships in the field, and adopting the methods of comprehensive and comparative analy-ses, Image of rural tourism development corresponds to the key areas of rural environment construction are dis-covered and the roles played by enterprises, government, village collectives and villagers are clearly defined.
