Elderly care institutions are the important living environ-ments for the elderly who need life care and nursing ser-vices. At present, there are many problems in the lighting environment of transformed elderly care institution, which lead to visual obstacles in the elderly in the process of indoor activities, resulting in some safety risks. Based on the behavior characteristics of different elderly people in the transformed care institutions, their demands for space lighting under static and dynamic behavior are studied, and the transformation and upgrading suggestions are put forward, to avoid conditions such as stagnant walking and unsteady gait caused by lighting, reduce the risk of accidents such as collisions, falls, stumbles, and create a safe, pleasurable, efficient lighting environment for elderly care institutions.
