Protection and Improvement Strategy of Historical and Cultural Block Centered on Community:Taking Chengnan Block in Quanzhou as an Example
The integrity,scale,and natural connection with the community of historical and cultural blocks create their uniqueness. Taking Chengnan Block in Quanzhou as an example,the main position of communities in the pro-tection and improvement of historical and cultural blocks are discussed,the decisive role of the basic needs of residents for livability and business in the protection and development of blocks are revealed,community centered strategies for block protection and improvement are ex-plored from the aspects of block functional layout limita-tion,industrial subject guidance,building renewal,place creation,and block governance. The position of commu-nity center not only helps to inherit the cultural core of the blocks,but also stimulates its self generating ability promoting gradual renewal and sustainable development of the block.
