Trapping Effects of Different Colors and Suspension Heights of Sticky Traps on Fruit Flies in Fruit Mulberry Fields
Fruit flies is one of the main pests in mulberry production. The trapping effects of different colored sticky traps on attracting fruit flies were researched in different suspension heights to provide the basis for monitoring and integrated controlling of Drosophila sp in fruit mulberry fields. The result of four consecutive years experiments show that trapping effects of the suspension height and color of the sticky traps had significant influence on fruit flies. The blue sticky traps showed more trapping effect than other 7 colored sticky traps. When sticky traps were hung at 0.5 m above the ground, the trapping effect of sticky traps on fruit flies was the best, and the average attracting rate was 37.72%,followed by the attracting rate of 34.18% at 1.0 m above the ground, and the trapping effect was the lowest at 1.5 m above the ground, only 28.10%.Blue sticky traps at 0.5 m above the ground can be used to attracting fruit flies in mulberry productions.Blue sticky traps can be hung at 0.5 m from the ground surface to attract fruit flies in mul-berry production, which can not only reduce insect pests, but also ensure the food safety of mulberries.
