Analysis of Large Silkworm Ground Cultivation and Influence on Yield and Quality of Silkworm Cocoon
Ground breeding is one of the labor-saving breeding techniques of large silkworms,and it has always been one of the large silkworm breeding methods chosen by farmers in Jiangsuand Zhejiang areas and Guangdong and Guangxi areas.In order to help the silkworm farmers in Sichuan and Chongqing region to choose and apply the labor-saving breeding technology more reasonably,the technology,cost advanta-ges and existing problems of ground breeding are analyzed,and the influence of ground breeding on cocoon performance and cocoon quality through the comparative test of ground breeding and silkworm cultivation is explored.According to the analysis and test results,it is concluded that the ground feeding has simple operation,labor saving and cost saving,with low space efficiency and low temperature in spring and late autumn,and compared with silkworm feeding,the cocoon rate and relaxation rate of raw materials pro-duced by ground feeding are slightly inferior.Therefore,whether the silkworm farmers choose the ground breeding,we need to comprehensively consider the labor cost,cocoon production performance,silkworm cocoon quality,climate and environment and other factors.
