The Silkworm Pan-genomic and Multi-omic Database SilkMeta
The silkworm Bombyx mori is an important economic insect and a model species for studying lepidopteran insects.The silkworm pan-genome dataset released by our group in 2022 is an important re-source for breeding and efficiently deciphering the genotype-phenotype relationship of silkworms.Here,we introduce SilkMeta(http://silkmeta.org.cn),a silkworm pan-genomic and multi-omics database con-structed by integrating other multi-omics data with pan-genomic dataset as the main part.SilkMeta in-cludes 546 high-quality genomes,over 50 million genomic variations(SNPs,InDel,SV)from 1082 sam-ples,1168 transcriptomes,non-coding RNAs,full-length transcripts,artificial selection signals,genetic linkage maps,population structure,phenotypes,and some useful bioinformatics analysis tools.It is an in-teractive and user-friendly platform for sharing and analyzing omics data,and will facilitate functional ge-nomics research in silkworms.This platform plays an important role in supporting studies for the genetic evaluation,phenotype-associated gene uncovering,precise molecular improvement,and genome selection breeding of silkworms,as well as the development and adaptive evolution of insects.
