The breeding selective traits of silkworm are typical quantitative traits,and research on their genetic basis is an important foundation for the progress of silkworm breeding.Due to the significant value of silk in sericulture,traits related to silk have long been a focus of quantitative genetic research on silk-worms,with a research history nearly 100 years.Since the beginning of the 21st century,with the ad-vancement of genomics and the continuous improvement of functional gene validation systems,the genetic research on quantitative traits in silkworms has entered a new stage.In recent years,breakthroughs have been made in identifying major genes related to silk yield and fiber fineness in silkworms,and the silk-worm pan-genome have laid a more solid foundation for this field.Here we review the progress in the mo-lecular genetic basis of quantitative traits related to silk,aiming to provide references for the molecular im-provement of silkworm silk traits.
