Study on the comparison of yield and quality between two hybrids and their parents of Elymus
The yields and quality of two hybrids, including Elyrnus cylindricus ×E. dahuricus (Y×P) and E. dahuricus×E. excelsus (P×F), and their parents were studied. The results indicated that the yields and crude protein contents of the hybrids were higher than their parents. Hay yield of Y×P was 9168.75 kg/hm2, which was 47% to 52% higher than that of their parents. Hay yield of P×F was 8223.15 kg/hm2, which was 18% to 40% higher than that of their parents. The crude protein content of Y×P was 14.01%, which was 0.23% to 1.47% higher than its parents. The two hybrids were better than their parents in yields and quality characters, and the heterosis of Y×P was significantly better than P×F.
