Study on biological characteristics of Bacillus mucilaginosus isolated from cinnamon soil in Shanxi
Six strains of Bacillus mucilaginosus were screened from cinnamon soil in Shanxi, and the physiological and biochemical characters, salt tolerance, acid and alkali resistance, and temperature sensitivity were determined by using the modal strain(strain code: K0) from Liaoning Center for Microorganism Reserve. The results showed that all strains were gram negative bacteria with circular gemma and thick capsule; the catalase test was masculine. They could hydrolyze starch and the V. P test was feminine. Strains K5 and K0 could survive in the medium with 3% NaCl and grow well under the temperature ranging from 25℃ to 30℃. The result could provide basis to obtain efficient strains for bio-fertilizer development.
