Determination of monitoring and propagating time of 38 leguminous species seeds in national crop genebank
The germination percentages of 38 species were tested after storing for 4 to 7 years in order to de-termine if the seeds need to be monitored or propagated comparing with the initial germination percentage. The results showed that after storing for 5 years 9 species including Trifolium repens ,Trifolium hybridum and Medicago falcata do not need to be monitored or propagated (the percentage of the seed patches with more than 20% of germination rate redution is more than 60%);5 species seeds including Lablab purpureus ,Stybsan-thes guianensis and Sesbania cannabina need to be propagated immediately (the percentage of the seed patches with less than 20% of germination rate reduction is more than 5% and the percentage of the seed patches with increased germination rate is more than 70%);And 24 species including Medicago sativa ,Astragalus adsurgens and Melilotus suaveolens need to be monitored sequentially.
