Investigation on blowout resistance performance of PTFE membrane coated filter materials
The membrane breakage rate and air permeability of four kinds of polytetrafluoroethylene(PTFE)membrane coated filter materials before and after pulse injection test were compared to evaluate the membrane performance of membrane coated filter materials. The results showed that, the thickness of PTFE membrane was proportional to the density of microfibres, and the pore size was inversely proportional to the membrane thickness. After the PTFE membrane was laminated onto the polyphenylene sulfide(PPS)filter material, the thicker PTFE membrane was not easily deformed,so it was less affected by pulse injection and had a longer service life.On the contrary, the thinner PTFE membrane was easy to be stretched, and it was severely damaged by pulse injection and had a shorter service life.It was pointed out that the pulse injection test could be used to evaluate the durability and reliability of the membrane. The test results could provide an effective reference for the selection of PTEF membrane thickness.
