Preparation and properties of coated intestinal stents loaded with traditional Chinese medicine compound by silk fibroin
A biodegradable drug-loaded coated intestinal stent was prepared by the combination of weft knitting technology and electrospinning technology using silk fibroin protein loaded with extracts of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) compound. Polydioxanone (PDO) monofilament was selected and the inner woven layer of the coated intestinal stent was prepared by using a small diameter cylindrical weft knitting machine. The inner intestinal stent was coated by electrospinning technology to prepare core-shell drug-loaded nanofiber films with different parameters. The oil phase of the spinning emulsion was made of polycaprolactone (PCL) solution, and the water phase was silk fibroin (SF) and TCM compound extract mixed in deionized water. The TCM compound was composed of psoralea, Astragalus, wild grape vine, mountain mushroom, fried white art and rehmannia. The stability, viscosity and electrical conductivity of the spinning emulsion and the surface morphology of the prepared nanofiber films were tested. The results showed that the fiber diameter was directly proportional to the mass fraction of the TCM compound. With the increase of PCL mass concentration and mass fraction of TCM compound, the nanofiber diameter increased. The fibers were continuous and smooth, without beading, folding, breaking, etc., and the performance of drug-loaded nanofiber film was good.
