Carbon footprint accounting and analysis of masks production
To investigate the carbon footprint of typical masks production and its influence factors,the carbon footprint of five typical masks production,including surgical masks,KN95 (gauze) masks,KN95 (four-layer without exhalation valve) masks,KN95 (five-layer without exhalation valve) masks,and KN95 (four-layer with exhalation valve) masks,was calculated and analyzed based on the carbon footprint theory. The results showed that the carbon footprint of KN95 (gauze) masks production,with the same declared unit,was the largest,while the carbon footprint of medical surgical masks production was the smallest. Factors such as equipment mechanism drive,ultrasonic welding,mask thickness,and breathing valve opening affect the carbon footprint of masks production,and the equipment mechanism drive usually has the greatest impact on the carbon footprint of masks production.
