Small carpentry is an important handicraft industry in ancient China,which had a heyday in history.However,with the changes of history,this industry has long declined.Today,from the small carpentry preserved in the Hall of Mental Cultivation of the Forbidden City,one can still feel the charm of ancient small carpenter.The article conducts research from the perspective of the study of the structure of small carpentry in the Hall of Mental Cultivation,exploring the concepts,classifications,techniques,functions,and aesthetics of the structure of small carpentry.The aim is to reveal the production techniques of ancient Chinese small carpentry and explore the historical and cultural values behind cultural relics.
