A Study on the Restoration Techniques of Ancestral Statues in the Hu Clan Ancestral Temple in Ningbo during the Qing Dynasty——On the Enlightenment of Restoration of Arts and Crafts
Ancestral images are an important component of traditional Chinese family rituals and activities related to respecting and praying for blessings,as well as a cultural carrier of traditional Chinese families.The Ming and Qing dynasties have declined,and the form of ancestor portraits has become more stable.There are many works that have been passed down,and damage is also very common.It is crucial to better restore them for the protection of traditional culture.This article focuses on the research and restoration of the"Hu Ancestral Portrait"collected by the Hu family in Xiaomen Village,Ningbo,Zhejiang Province.It introduces the basic information of the damage and diseases in the work,and analyzes the causes of these injuries.This article provides new repair ideas,methods,and materials for this type of collection that is improperly preserved and severely damaged in the folk.It also provides suggestions for scientific protection of the"Ancestral Statue"after restoration,in order to carry the nostalgia for our ancestors and inherit and develop excellent traditional Chinese culture and skills.
