Contemporary Jewelry Design in the Context of Artificial Intelligence——Summary of the 2023 Beijing International Jewelry Art Exhibition Summit Forum
Artificial Intelligence(AI)is essentially algorithm driven machine learning,and its geometric multiple level learning efficiency and strain rate can indeed provide jewelry designers with massive data support and information image generation.Especially for commercial jewelry,its application prospects are more optimistic.However,for art jewelry or niche designer brands,the drawbacks of Al are also worth exploring in depth.Humans have invented countless tools on the path of evolution,Al belongs to its own lineage,and tools can be weapons or deadly weapons,blessings or harm.We should have a correct understanding of it,and we will also have a correct understanding of ourselves and the jewelry design and wearing behavior that accompany human civilization.The 6th Beijing International Jewelry Art Exhibition was held at Beijing Institute of Fashion from October 14th to 22nd,2023.On October 15th,jewelry artists and educators from the UK,South Korea,and China reflected and discussed the impact of Al on contemporary jewelry design."The impact of Al on the innovation of jewelry design""the relationship between handicraft value and Al substitution"and"the relationship between contemporary expression of jewelry design and Al context"are the three main themes involved in the forum.Based on the author's presentation,this article gathers the opinions of various schools,extracts core viewpoints of common concern,and presents them together for readers to enjoy.
