Designing"Design":Overview of the Design Sub Forum under the 2024 Peking University International Doctoral Forum on Art
On August 31,2024,the"Designing'Design'-Reconstruction of the Design System in the Intelligent Era"design sub forum under the 2024 Peking University International Doctoral Forum on Art was successfully held at the School of Art,Peking University.The sub forum was held in an interdisciplinary context.The morning theme was"The Turn of Design in the Intelligent Age",attendees reflected on how design ethics,design practice,and design education should respond against the backdrop of the tremendous development of generative artificial intelligence technology.The theme of the afternoon was"Design and Theory in History",attempting to introduce new problems,methods,and theoretical paradigms into contemporary design history and theory research.Experts attended believe that the quality of this conference was high,and it has become an important stage for young scholars of design study to communicate and interact,form an academic community,and reach consensus in differences.This forum strongly supports the process of building an independent knowledge system for Chinese design studies.
